What is Brigadeiro?

Our Brigadeiro is a delightful bite-sized sphere of pure delight made from the finest chocolates, cocoa, condensed milk and cream, and a dash of love, and these little treasures are coated in an array of mouthwatering toppings. They are the perfect harmony of creamy, chewy, and decadent, making any dessert lover's dreams come true.

The recipe was originated in Brazil in the 1940s to help raise money for the presidential campaign of Brigadier Eduardo Gomes. (Brigadiero – Brigadier General- a rank of army ) At the time, women handed out the treat at campaign events. According to legend, Gomes was very popular among women because he was tall, handsome, blue-eyed, and single. The sweet was introduced as the "brigadier's favorite," and over time, its name changed from "brigadier's sweet" to simply "brigadeiro." The rest is history.
